چکیده
Original Document: Selfish Caching in Distributed Systems: A Game-Theoretic Analysis [6], from B. Chun, K. Chaudhuri, H. Wee, M. Barreno, C. Papadimitriou and J. Kubiatowicz The authors analyze the caching problem in P2P systems when the peers behave selfishly, trying to maximize their own gain. They model the problem using a game-theoretic approach, and show that the game reaches a Nash Equilibrium. Following, they enhance the system with a payment methodology, which tunes the system toward a better solution.

The Price of Malice: A Game-Theoretic Framework for Malicious Behavior in Distributed Systems
In recent years, game theory has provided insights into the behavior of distributed systems by modeling the players as utility-maximizing agents. In particular, it has been shown that selfishness causes many systems to perform in a globally suboptimal fashion. Such systems are said to have a large price of anarchy. In this article, we extend this field of research by allowing some players to be...
متن کاملGame-Theoretic Approach for Pricing Decisions in Dual-Channel Supply Chain
In the current study, a dual-channel supply chain is considered containing one manufacturer and two retailers. It is assumed that the manufacturer and retailers have the same decision powers. A game-theoretic approach is developed to analyze pricing decisions under the centralized and decentralized scenarios. First, the Nash model is established to obtain the equilibrium decisions in the decent...
متن کاملA Game Theoretic Approach for Sustainable Power Systems Planning in Transition
Intensified industrialization in developing countries has recently resulted in huge electric power demand growth; however, electricity generation in these countries is still heavily reliant on inefficient and traditional non-renewable technologies. In this paper, we develop an integrated game-theoretic model for effective power systems planning thorough balancing between supply and demand for e...
متن کاملThe Business Side of Wireless Edge Caching: A Game Theoretical View
Future wireless systems enable content communication to be offloaded towards the network edges instead of allocating in centralized cloud. In this paper, we investigate the incentives in edge caching networks via tools from game theory by considering heterogeneous edge systems and various caching behaviors. Particularly, we analyze the competitive and cooperative interactions of multiple stakeh...
متن کاملUser selfishness vs. file availability in P2P file-sharing systems: Evolutionary game theoretic approach
In a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file-sharing system, a node finds and retrieves its desired file. If multiple nodes cache the same file to provide others, we can achieve a dependable file-sharing system with low latency and high file availability. However, a node has to spend costs, e.g., processing load or storage capacity, on caching a file. Consequently, a node may selfishly behave and hesitate to c...
